Media Services
The U of L CMS includes the ability to play, stream, download, and podcast video, audio, and music in multiple formats.
The CMS allows you to post recording of tour lectures, speeches, performances, or almost any other media to the web.
Adding media to your site
Step 1. Create a MediaFolder
To add media to your CMS site, first add a MediaFolder:

Step 2: Add an mp3 or media file
After you create a media folder, you can add either an mp3 or another type of media by selecting the type from the "add item" menu.

What media type do we support?
The MediaFolder is pretty flexible. Currently, we support a number of popular delivery options and compressed formats.(We recommend against posting .raw and .wav files as these are not compressed and may be a poor option for many internet listeners.)
Delivery options
- Direct Download
- Streaming (flash, real media, windows media, Quicktime)
- Podcast (RSS 2.0, iTunes)
- m3u (winamp, etc.)
Initially supported formats include:
- Audio
mp3
- Video/Audio
mpg
mov
flv
mp4
m4v
MP3 media
This is by far the most popular and recommended audio format to use. If you have questions about how to get the most out of your recordings (lectures, performances) using the mp3 format, please contact the web team with your questions. The MP3 audio content tools are based on ATAudio (more info on ATAudio can be found at plone4artists.org). If you use id3 tag information in your recordings when you create your audio content, the ATAudio hooks will pull id3 tag information directly from an mp3 file when you initially upload it to the server.
