Advanced Course

The Advanced Course, the last two years of the program, prepares the student for future responsibilities by exploring the profession of Army officers, advanced leadership and tactics, military law, ethics and values, and staff management. During leadership lab and training exercises, cadets receive practical leadership experience and training. All cadets are paid $2,500 a year during the Advanced Course. Cadets will also attend a five-week Advanced Leadership Camp during the summer, normally between the junior and senior years. Cadets are paid approximately $750 for attending camp. This camp permits cadets to put into practice the theories and principles they have acquired in the classroom.

Alternative Entry

Students, who did not participate in the first two years of Army ROTC and desire to participate in the program, may opt for the five-week Basic Leadership Camp, "Camp Challenge" (read description), at Fort Knox, Kentucky. Completion of this camp qualifies students for the Advanced Course. Students are paid at 1/2 the rate of a Second Lieutenant and receive all meals, housing, travel, and uniforms. There is no military obligation incurred for attending Camp Challenge and students may compete for Two-Year Scholarships.

Prior service students who have completed Basic Training may qualify for entry directly into the Advance Course.
