Yvonne Jones

Dr. Yvonne Jones has worked at the University of Louisville for twenty-eight years, and has held positions in the Departments of Anthropology and Pan African Studies.  Her primary research interests include the political economy of urban communities as well as crime in urban areas.  More recently, Dr. Jones has become interested in issues related to nationalism and those specifically related to race, history, representation, and state-sanctioned violence.  In conjunction with the Pan African Studies outreach committee, she helps to set up programs with community-based organizations in Louisville.  Students increased in participating in research related to the subject areas above are encouraged to contact Dr. Jones.
